Pepper looked at Naomi and Naomi said "ah yes I didn't tell you I'm Princess Naomi Daisy Jem of The Brinny Kingdom. My guardian Jax was kidnapped by The Gave along with my other guards that I was traveling with. Hayes was trying to kill me by setting Jax's house on fire but I was able to escape. Now I'm trying to save Jax and end the war for my kingdom." Pepper tilted her head and Naomi put her hand on her face and said "why am I telling you like you understand. I really need to find Jax." Naomi tripped over a tree root, hit the ground face first, and laid there while the spider crawled off of her head and ran away. Pepper ran up next to her and Naomi lifted up her head while saying "why, why do these things always have to happen?! Is it just me? Do I draw these torturous things to myself?" Naomi stood to her feet while saying "after I save Jax I'm gonna hit him for making me go through all of this to save his life. I'm so grumpy right now." Naomi looked on the ground for carriage tracks but found none. Naomi said "that's just great... I guess I'll just keep walking straight and hope this is the way. Thanks for all your help Pepper but now you must go home to your Momma. Okay?" Pepper rubbed her head against Naomi's leg and Naomi said "Pepper you've got to go home. Your Momma will be miss you, like my Momma misses me." Pepper continued to rub her head against Naomi's leg and Naomi thought to herself "I hope she's not an orphan but I'm not sure that she's not. I guess I can take her along for the time being. She would be good company." She looked at Pepper and said "alright Pepper you can come with me but only until I save Jax. Then you go back home okay.... okay."They began to walk straight trying to find their way to The Brinny Kingdom. Soon the hours pa.s.sed and the moon rose to the sky. Hoot, hoot. They heard the owls as they walked through the forest. Naomi said "Pepper we're gonna have to stop and rest soon. We don't want to tire ourselves out, then we'll be no use to anyone. Its best if we rest.... that's what Jax always said to me. Sometimes I wish he would take his own advice. Now I don't know if he's okay or not but I mustn't loose hope.... I have to keep going." Pepper stood infront of Naomi and began to growl. Naomi crouched down to her level and said "what is it girl? What's wrong?" Naomi looked around, didn't see anything, and said "what's wrong, I don't see anything." Naomi turned her palm up as sparks appeared in her hands and turned into fire. Naomi smiled and said "look Pepper, I think I'm getting a hang on my powers." Pepper began to show her teeth while she growled and Naomi said "Pepper its okay." Naomi waved her palm around and said "see nothing to worry about no ones..." before she could finish her sentence a wolf jumped out of the darkness of the forest and attacked Pepper. Naomi screamed "Pepper!" Pepper began fight the wolf, Naomi screamed "Pepper I'm coming," but before she could help she saw a group of 4 wolves coming towards her cirling her all around. Pepper yelped from being bit by the wolf that attacked her and Naomi screamed "Pepper hang on." Naomi ran towards Pepper trying to help her when one of the wolves jumped on Naomi knocking her down to the ground. Naomi slapped the wolf in the face with her hand that had the fire in it and the wolf ran away while wimpering. The fire in Naomi's hand got put out from the slap and the other wolves cirled around Naomi, closing in on her. Pepper began to wimper from being attack. Naomi cried "Pepper," and a wolf jumped on Naomi, bit her hair, and dragged her down to the ground. Another wold jumped on top of Naomi while she tried pushed the wolf by its shoulders trying to keep it from bitting her. The wolf continue to snap at Naomi trying to attack her. Naomi yelled "enough," and shocked the wolf that was on her. The wolf ran away wimpering. Naomi ripped her hair out of the other wolf's mouth and shocked it. The wolf ran away. Naomi looked at the final wolf that was going to attack her when Pepper defeated the head wolf. The other wolf looked at the deafeated head wolf and both wolves ran away. Naomi ran over to Pepper, crouched down to her level, and held her while saying "thank you Pepper. You save my life." Naomi looked at Pepper's leg and said "your injured Pepper. I've got to attend to your wounds before we keep going." Naomi ripped off some fabric from the bottom of her shirt and tied it around Pepper's wound. Naomi said "this is the best I can do right now. We've gotta keep going because they might come back, come on Pepper." They began to walk and Pepper wimpered and fell to the ground. Naomi said "oh no, Pepper.... I'm gonna have to carry you for right now." She picked Pepper up and carried her until she found a safe spot for them to rest.
