The Road to Slaying God Chapter 30

CHAPTER 30: LU FEI

“Correct !”

The old man nodded his head in admiration. This child’s
power of observation was amazing, and indeed he had never seen those three
people.

Soon after, a person appeared from inside and stood in the
middle of the way blocking the three strangers. They seemed to speak a few
words and was taken inside the alley thereafter.

“Don’t worry about him, he’s meeting someone inside. You
just need to watch things here. Right, I heard from Liu Biao that you are a
senior, what are your plans after graduation?”

“I don’t think that my college’s diploma would be useful
after graduation,  hehe, my dream was to
enter on one of the C City’s largest two companies, unfortunately, I heard that
this two companies have not been recruiting fresh graduates for many years now
….”

“Baiyun group and Great Qin International?”

“Yep”

“Hahaha , in this ten years, among a group of people, two of
them have entered to Great Qin International.” The old man’s eyes appeared to
be smiling.

“Is there a way?” Zhang Yang’s spirit immediately startled
as his biggest wish was to enter in these two multinational companies.”

“I don’t know.”

The old man’s face looked mysterious. This led Zhang Yang to
believe that the old man knows a way to approach this two large companies. It
wasn’t more than twenty years ago when these companies started their business
in C City with large scale recruitment of staff and there are handful of people
working there for more than ten years. It is said that as long as you can get into
these two companies, it is equal as entering the gold collar industry. Even the
lowest position employee has high benefits which is scary….

“You must know!” Zhang Yang had a strong itch in his heart
and said.

“No, forget it!” The old man’s eyes flashed cunningness as
he succeeded in arousing his interest, leaving behind a huge lure for Zhang
Yang and he believed that Zhang Yang would definitely consider it very
seriously.

“Don’t say ‘forget it’ …. … I have to go ... Song Tao is
here.” Zhang Yang looked depressed, lthough his mind was meticulous, but there
was his clever rival, the old man who has now planted a budding seed in his
heart. The temptation to enter these two large companies was too big, big
enough to have countless fragmentary thoughts that Zhang Yang couldn’t resist.

The old man nodded and reverted his usual cold and detached
form, and closed his eyes to sleep on the couch. Engaging with Zhang yang gave
him a kind of young sensation letting him think of his young frivolous past…..

…………..

“Better to read a book …”

Eating on the roadside stalls for his lunch, this lunch box
costs ten yuan and was really delicious. The food was very rich but the only
shortcoming on the food was some corner materials. But, of course, this did not
affect Zhang yang’s appet.i.te. Zhang Yang gobbled up until his belly patted up
like a balloon and after that he had nothing else to do except to go to the
library.

The library was always mostly packed with people at that
time. Every time Zhang Yang came to the library after noon he had never seen
one empty seat.

“Zhang Yang, hereee …..”

Sure enough, as Zhang Yang, Du Xue was also in the library,
with books accounted for two seats. Obviously one of the seat was for him and
the other was for Du Xue’s high school friend. Zhang Yang felt very strange as
every time, he sees Du Snow saving a seat for Lu Fei, but he actually has never
seen him come, at least, he hadn’t seen him in that week.

“Thank You, your cla.s.smate?” Zhang Yang sat down and asked,
“Why is it that I never seen him come?”

“He … … he doesn’t like reading books in the library … …” Du
Xue looked at the old maid sitting at the door, and whispered with her small
voice.

“And still you’re saving him a seat?”

“He said … he said … he might come back …” Du Xue’s face was
red, but Zhang Yang was accustomed to her blush so he wasn’t surprised.

“ … Might … come … …” Zhang Yang was suddenly speechless, it
seemed that Du Xue liked that person, otherwise, she wouldn’t have preserved
him a seat just with these words.

“Do you like him?” Zhang Yang lowered his voice. He felt
that the old maid was watching him but he didn’t want to be thrown out from the
library.

“No … no.” Du Xue suddenly panicked and became red.

“Oh …”

Zhang Yang was not a fool, naturally Du Xue liked Lu Fei.

He felt the old maid eye’s looking over him again, so Zhang
Yang did not dare to ask. The old woman do not always look scary but sometimes
her eyes looked as sharp as a knife and Zhang Yang was a little afraid of those
kind of eyes. Zhang had a strange but familiar, a kind of contradictory feeling
for this kind of vision as if he had already seen it before.

Soon, Zhang Yang was once again immersed in the vast world
of writing, his mind was travelling to the thousands years of history from top
to bottom. Zhang Yang had a very wonderful feeling, it seemed that a mysterious
force was waving him in but he was unable to find out the reason as the hint
was strange and elusive.

Time pa.s.sed quickly. Zhang Yang was too much invested in
reading that he didn’t notice that some person had sat beside Du Xue.

He didn’t even notice that the person had been looking at
him.

Zhang Yang had the book “The Art of War” in his hands. He
had been reading this book for a long time repeatedly for several times. He had
this feeling that this thin book seemed to hide a number of secrets inside, but
unfortunately even after reading the book for five times, he still couldn’t
find the reason which was responsible for that feeling. The book was a modern
version of ordinary printing and could find it on any big bookstores. There was
nothing that surprising between the lines of the book which made Zhang Yang
puzzled.

“Du Xue, are there any cakes? I’m hungry.”

Zhang Yang just stretched his hand without lifting his head,
it was his first time asking Du Xue for food.

He was sensing a different kind of feeling from this book “The
Art Of War”.  He had read almost every
word of the book several times, including the punctuation marks thoroughly.

Although Zhang Yang did not have any relation with the book,
somewhere it seemed that an invisible force was summoning him to stay, and
under the call of this force an unbearable hunger aroused which led Zhang Yang
to immediately think of Du Xue with the cake.

Silence

“Du …”

Zhang Yang looked up and immediately he shut his mouth
because he saw an evil little face. It was Lu Fei. Lu Fei was holding the cake
in his hands and seeing Zhang Yang looking at him, he bite a mouthful of the
cake with a faint smile on his face …….
