I Don’t Like The World, I Only Like You Chapter 7
Last year, when I was doing work in the mountainous area, I fell down due to the pushing of the crowd. My leg sc.r.a.pped against a rock and it was so painful that I could see stars.
My colleagues quickly came and help me up while asking if I am all right. I slowly stood up and a.s.sured them I was okay. I placed two band aid on the injured area and continued to work.
When I went back, I found out my pants was half soaked with blood, I then limped my way to a clinic. The doctor told me that after a few st.i.tches I would be alright, however there was no anesthetic available.
As there was still work on the second day which I cannot miss, I gritted my teeth and told him to go ahead, I can bear with the pain.
I endured the whole process without making a noise.
My colleagues stood by my side and accompany me throughout the process. A 180 cmDongBei guy who saw the process went up to me and said that he really admired my courage.
I was embarra.s.sed by his praise and replied, "This is nothing. When I was younger, I had a surgery hundred times more painful than this and I was able to withstand it. "
When we went back to Beijing, Mr. F was at the airport to pick my colleagues and me up. I was so tired, once I entered the car I fell asleep.
When I was half awake, I heard my colleague said that if I was born a few decades earlier, I would be Hua Mulan.
My colleagues then asked Mr. F, "Is she also so strong at home?"
Mr. F answered. "No, at home she like to act spoiled. Whenever we watch movie, she cried till I must coax her, she is just like a child."
My colleagues were puzzled. "Why?"
"Because when she is with me, she does not need to put on a front."
I was listening quietly when suddenly I felt my tears p.r.i.c.kling behind my eyelids.
Once, in the library I came upon this sentence which left a deep impression on me. "In a person's lifetime, it is easy to meet someone you love or hate. However, it is very hard to meet someone who understand you."
Perhaps, this can be called understanding.
