Chapter 16: Comrades (3)

"Now its time to cook the rabbit...."
"We should cook it whole right?"
"We can put it on a spike and roast it."
"Why dont we use this?"
Junho put the spear I made for him forward.
"Yeah. If it ends up being unusable, I can make you a new one."
"Okay."
I put the rabbit on the spear and put it above the fire.
I motioned Lee Hyesoo to come closer.
"Hyesoo can you cook this?"
"....Okay."
Lee Hyesoo innocently took the spear and started to cook the rabbit. Seeing her cooking, I told her "If there is a lot of points in work like this you can earn a lot of karma points. Since you are weak in fights you should do more of this kind of work."
"Thank you so much."
She expressed her gratefulness.
Her face lit up in the wooden fire. Looking carefully, even though she wasnt wearing any makeup, she was pretty.
White and smooth skin. Her curvy short hair complemented her slim face. Her height was similar to Hyunji so about 165 cm. Her slim thighs was memorable wrapped in a black exercise clothes.
No wonder Park Gochan drooled.
After having his energy bent by Kang Chunsung, Park Gochan was quiet. He was being a pain while being wary of Kang Chunsungs gaze. Looking at his behavior it was obvious he will cause problems regarding Lee Hyesoo later.
For now I need to protect her.
Kang Chunsung didnt care, Junho was kind but weak so I was the only one left. I already hated him anyway.
I could smell the delicious meat being cooked. The meat Hyesoo was cooking was almost done cooking.
"Is it done cooking?"
"I think so."
"Then Ill cut it."
Hyesoo took out the rabbit meat from the fire. I cut the rabbit meat into five pieces and gave it out to everyone. Since there is no knife, I have rely on Silpi for even the basic things.
The rabbit meat was alright. It was difficult to eat because it was hot and since there was no salt it was somewhat bland. But I didnt have time to think about things like that.
"Its bland."
Park Gochan complained. Why dont you starve to death why dont you?
"Hey, go kill another one. Do you think this is enough?
It was bothersome just talking to him. I threw a candy from my pocket.
"What is this?"
"Cant you see what it is?"
"Where did you get this! You can bring stuff like this?"
"You cant bring it usually, but he said that it was special service."
"Ah f.u.c.k. I couldnt even bring a lighter and cigarette. Are they discriminating people or what!"
But when the candy went into his mouth he shut the f.u.c.k up. Is the cost of him shutting up a piece of candy?
I gave everyone else a piece of candy.
"Thanks brother."
"Thank-you."
Junho and Hyesoo were the only ones who said thank you. Should I just take these two and go?
After the meal, the night was getting darker.
"We need to figure out sentry duty." I said before going to bed.
"We dont need it."
As always this retort was from Park Gochan.
"We need to keep the fire going and we need to worry about being ambushed. I think each person should do an hour and 20 minutes of sentry duty. The order I can decide on my own right?
I purposely asked Kang Chunsung. Kang Chunsung nodded his head. And thanks to that Park Gochan couldnt say anything back.
The sentry duty was as follows.
Lee Hyesoo - Lee Junho - me - Kang Chunsung - Park Gochan.
The reason for putting Park Gochan last was a stroke of genius.
He might not wake up even if we wake him. Thats why I put Kang Chunsung right before Park Gochan. What is he going to do when Kang Chunsung wakes him?
Also he might try to wake the next person in line earlier. Thats why I put him last. Like this he cant cause trouble for us regarding sentry duty.
The first sentry Hyesoo sat in front of the fire and rest of us went to sleep inside the cave. Due to being uncomfortable everyone rustle around in their sleep.
I put a bunch of moss inside the rabbit skin to make a pillow. I hunted and skinned the rabbit so it was my natural right.
Thanks to wearing thick clothing I could endure the cold night.
This was how I pa.s.sed the first night of the second test.

"Wake up."
The voice who woke us up was Park Chunsung.
"Eak."
I woke up while still feeling tired. When I summoned the slate and checked the time it hasnt even been 40 minutes since we changed.
"Whats wrong?"
"The enemys here."
I woke up instantly with those words. The rest also alarmed grabbed their weapons.
"Silpi is there enemies around?"
- Meow.
"Do they look like monkeys and have red fur?"
- Meow.
Silpi nodded her head this time also.
"It really are those b.a.s.t.a.r.ds."
Park Gochan had a sword in his hand.
Silpi wrote on the ground 21.
"21 of them?"
"That many!"
Junho yelled out in fear after hearing there were 21 one of them and Hyesoos face also became pale. The spear she was holding with both her hand started to shake.
"We just need to guard the cave entrance. It doesnt matter how many come."
Park Gochan said confidently, but I rebuked him.
"No we need to protect the fire."
"What?
"They purposefully attacked at night. They have confidence in the dark. I believe they will first....
When I was about to say that they will aim for the fire first when ....
"Kiruk!"
"Kiruk!"
The red apes made war cries and started throwing rocks from the forest. The rock hit the fire and was spread all over the place.
If the fire goes out we are at a disadvantage!
I put a bullet in the chamber.
"Silpi I entrust you with the aiming."
- Meow!
I put the b.u.t.t of the rifle into my shoulders and pulled the trigger.
Tong - pak!
"Kiruk!"
As soon as the bullet was fired a red apes scream could be heard. It hit either the neck, head, or heart. Thats how Silpi aimed.
I quickly put in more bullets in the chamber and continued to shoot. Since I have Silpi I dont need to aim at all.
Tong. pak!
"Kiruk!"
Every time a bullet was fired a scream could be heard from the forest.
"Wow...."
Lee Junhos had his mouth opened from the surprise.
"How are you hitting when you cant even see?"
Park Gochan asked with a face that said he couldnt believe this.
It was when I killed 6 of them.
"Kirururk!"
"Kiaek!"
An angry yell could be heard from the forest.
The red apes couldnt endure so they started charging with a fist axe in their hand.
The 15 red apes came like a raging storm.
"I support you from the back!"
When I said that the first one to come out of the cave was Kang Chunsung.
For a moment I thought he was running away but as he got closer he put out his right hand.
Puk!
It was right in the head.
The red apes head that got hit by a palm twisted a 180 degrees. I could hear the sound of the neck braking even from here.
"Kiruk!"
From the side another b.a.s.t.a.r.d swung his fist axe. We, as spectators felt worry at this moment.
Puk!
Even though the red ape attacked first, Kang Chunsungs. .h.i.t first.
Kang Chunsung turned around and grabbed another b.a.s.t.a.r.ds legs and throat and threw him. The b.a.s.t.a.r.d who was thrown hit the others and fell down together.
"Unbelievable."
That wasnt thrown using strength. He broke the enemys balance and used the enemys strength to get rid of him. Now thats martial arts.
He was really strong. It looked like Kang Chunsung could handle all of them by himself.
I cant just spectate like this.
I once more started shooting from the back.
Tong-pak!
From one b.a.s.t.a.r.d head blood started flowing out like a fountain.
The others who were just spectating also woke up.
Lee Junho grabbing his spear and shield slowly started to move forward.
"I need to fight to earn karma points!"
Park Gochan also ran forward yelling.
[Crying sound]
It was Hyesoo who couldnt do a thing.
The fight was finished quickly.
I killed 9 of them.
Lee Junho fought hard but he only injured a couple of them and Park Gochan even though he wildly fought only killed one and injured one. The rest was killed by Kang Chunsung. He killed almost every one of them with just one hit.
"Kiruk!"
"Kiruk!
The two remaining ran away scared. I yelled to Silpi.
"Silpi! Please cut off their head!"
- Meow!
Silpi instantly flew away. Soon after I could hear the screams of the red apes in the forest.
