Chapter 40.1 - Pink, pink, pink
Xiao Lin had sneakily concealed herself in the hotel, Tang Xiao found her huddled up in a corner.
When Xiao Lin saw her, it was like she’d seen her saviour.
In a single leap, pounced on her and rubbed her face against her chest.
“You finally came!”
Tang Xiao took a look at what she was wearing.
Her outfit was Bohemian, wrapped up a single towel and when she left the internet bar, she slipped on a pair of sungla.s.ses and used a headscarf to wrap her face up tightly.
“... Are you about to rob a bank or bomb the White House?”
Xiao Lin tugged down her headscarf, “If you’re like this, you’ll lose this baby (bao bao/me).”
Tang Xiao looked her up and down, “From up to down, apart from your chest, where is their treasure (bao bao)? Say, what do you think Chief Ning …” Xiao Lin gripped her hands into fists and s.n.a.t.c.hed in front, “So what if my chest isn’t big!”
Her headscarf slipped down, revealing that her face had already reddened down to her neck.

“Without a flat (ping) chest, how can there be peace (ping) in the world!”
Tang Xiao looked at her contemptuously, “To get the peoples’ hearts is to get the world.”

Tang Xiao had always known that Chief Ning’s intelligence network was big but she didn’t know it was this big.
Just as she was bickering with Xiao Lin on the ground floor, Chief Ning appeared in the room.
When they left, the window wasn’t opened.
The room was dark as Chief Ning sat with his back against the light.
He sat on the sofa, both of his hands tucked into his pants as his expression was unreadable.
Xiao Lin was just about to dash outside before Chief Ning dragged her by the arm.
Tang Xiao hadn’t even reacted before Chief Ning was already dragging her away.
“Lin Wen, where were you going to go?” His voice was full of fury.
“Two years ago, you forgot the lesson that I gave you? Your memory hasn’t increased at all?”
Lin Wen nodded her head like a pecking chicken, her face full of tears, “I remember, I remember, I didn’t forget, didn’t forget.”
Seeing her like this, Chief Ning’s anger slightly abated.
The hand that was gripping her arm slightly loosened.
Tang Xiao’s gossip loving heart bloomed again.
The lesson from two years ago?
It felt like she was about to come across some delicious gossip.
Originally, she wanted to give the two of them s.p.a.ce to fight it out, but now she didn’t want to leave, sticking around at the entrance and slowly nudging inside.

Tang Xiao’s heart felt like a cat was scratching at it, her whole person was about to stick onto the door as she tried to eavesdrop.
“What are you doing?” Mu Cheng’s voice sounded from behind.
Tang Xiao jumped, startled as she turned around to face him, running into his chest.
Tang Xiao: <(￣︶￣)> Mu Cheng’s embrace.
“Tang Xiao?” Mu Cheng asked again.
Tang Xiao then took a step backwards. “Ah, you scared me. You finished work so early today?”
“En.” Mu Cheng nodded his head, his makeup was still on.
Normally, Mu Cheng wouldn’t put on makeup at home and only when he was filming did he put on a bit.
He looked like he was glowing.
Tang Xiao’s eyes were glistening when they looked at him.
Mu Cheng was a bit helpless, “Tang Xiao, what are you doing?”
“En??” Tang Xiao turned around and silently slapped herself.

After his reminder, she finally remembered what the heck she was doing.
Her ears hadn’t placed themselves against the door before a huge sound crashed through the door.
“F****, that’s Chief Ning and Xiao Lin inside. Nothing bad happened, right?” As she spoke, she was pounding the door hard.
“Chief Ning!!!!! Brother!!! Open the door!!!! Don’t die!!!! If you can speak, don’t move your hands!!!!” The sound of her pounding on the door was about to shake the whole hotel.
Just as she was speaking, the door suddenly opened.
Tang Xiao was lying on the door so it was lucky that Mu Cheng was quick and held onto her before she fell down.
Chief Ning’s expression was bad, his clothes and hair were messed up.
He looked darkly at the two of them, his aura low.
“Shut up. Go play your games.”
He shoved the laptop in his arms into Tang Xiao’s arms and was about to close the door.
Tang Xiao held onto the door frame and was just about to peek inside before Chief Ning blocked her with his body.
“Mu Cheng, drag her away. Cut her corpse up or drug her, I don’t care. Tang Xiao, you shut up.” He then ruthlessly shoved Tang Xiao to Mu Cheng and slammed the door shut.
Tang Xiao wanted to pound on the door again but Mu Cheng pulled her back.
“They’re busy, first come to my room.”
Tang Xiao’s brain instantly stopped.
Busy?????
What are they busy with????
Wait, wait!
That was her bed!!!!
This is her room!!!!
Those are her towels!!!!
How could she face her room after this!!!

Like a pecking chicken - the author uses like pounding garlic but I can barely cook so pecking chicken was more descriptive for me.
