Chapter 6, Part 1: Reunion
In these three days, Ling Jing Shu had thought about the scene of reunion with Madam Ling, and imagined that she would be filled with anger and agitation. However at this moment, she was as cool as snow.
All the hatred and anger were being pushed into the bottom of her heart.
Waiting for the coming days to spew out everything.
Ling Jing Shu showed a light smile, walked up to the front and bowed to greet them, “This niece greets aunt.”
Her voice was like Black-naped oriole's cry, soft and sweet.
Madam Ling praised her in her heart and fixed her eyes at Ling Jing Shu. She saw that her eyes and brows were beautiful and her face was as calm as water. What's more rare was that she did not show impatient or wanting to get away, this had left a good impression on her.
Madam Ling's eyes flashed with amazed and stunning, “When i was married, you were less than two years old, and you couldn't even call me aunt yet. In a blink of an eye, you had already become such a beautiful girl.”
Ling Jing Shu lowered her head and softly responded, “Shu-er dare not receive such beautiful praise from aunt.”
Madam Ling smiled and held onto Ling Jing Shu's hands, “You have been sick for a few days, the present that I had prepared for you can finally give to you today.”
She turned her head and instructed, “Wei Zi, go back to the room and bring me the box on the dresser.”
The maid servant in green responded and turned to retreat out.
Madam Ling seemed to be particularly fond of Ling Jing Shu, she continued to hold onto her hands and started talking with Old Madam Ling, “I had married to Lu Family for many years. I only gave birth to a son, Ah Qian. I always wanted a daughter, but unfortunately failed. Today after seeing this gentle and well-behave girl, I am especially envy!”
Her words was so interesting which made Old Madam Ling laughed non-stop, “You this girl, you are already a mother still behave so mischievous. Never mind, since you and Shu jie-er can really hit it off, when you leave this place, might as well bring her back with you.”
Even though she knew Old Madam ling was just joking, Ling Jing Shu's heart still can feel the chills.
Madam Ling's familiar laughter rang, “This is what mother said. Second, third and fifth sister-in-law heard it too right, please be my witness.”
The few of them joined in the conversation, “Alright, we will be your witness. Even if Fifth Master is back, he have no place to reason.”
Madam Ling felt very comfortable after returning to her family house. She immediately smiled and said, “Fifth elder brother only has this one precious daughter, if I s.n.a.t.c.h her away, he definitely will be angry at me.”
Ling Jing Shu reluctantly resisted the urge to pull back her hands, she hung her head and revealing just the right shy and joy.
Ling Jing Xian who stood at the side all this time almost couldn't smile anymore. Her heart was burning with jealousy.
It was always like this every time! When Ling Jing Shu made an appearance, everyone's eyes will revolve around her.
Wei Zi quickly returned with the box.
Madam Ling opened the box and took out a pair of jade bracelet, “This jade bracelet is not the best Hetian jade but the quality is consider good. Come, aunt will put it on you now.”
While talking, she personally put the jade bracelet on Ling Jing Shu.
Ling Jing Shu showed grat.i.tude and moving smile. She took this opportunity to thanks her and retracted her hands.
After the greeting, Ling Jing Shu and Ling Jing Xian moved to stand beside Ling Jing Wan.
The elders were chatting, the juniors don't need to be too formal, they whispered around when they stand together.
“Cousin Wan,” Ling Jing Xian whispered quietly, “Where are Cousin Hong and Cousin Qian? Why didn't they come with aunt?”
Madam Ling brought Lu Hong and Lu Qian here this time. Lu Hong was born from first wife, he's also Lu Family's first grandson. Lu Qian was born from Madam Ling and he's twelve years old this year.
At that time, Madam Ling immediately got pregnant when she just married into Lu Family. Her child was born prematurely less than eight months. Madam Ling almost died from difficult birth, after that she did not get pregnant again.
Lu Qian was born weak and sickly, Madam Ling spent lots of effort to bring him up, and so she was extremely favored of him.
Thinking of Lu Qian, Ling Jing Shu squinted and frowned, but she immediately returned to her usual self.
Ling Jing Wan did not pay attention to Ling Jing Shu's strangeness. She smiled and said, “Cousin Hong stayed in the residence for three days and said it is too boring so he brought Cousin Qian to Ling Family's home school early in the morning to listen.”
“Cousin Hong is really good at learning!” When mentioned about Lu Hong, Ling Jing Xian's eyes suddenly shone, “Heard that Cousin Hong had already pa.s.sed the country level imperial exam, he will definitely be able to get top scores in the imperial examinations.”
Ling Jing Shu smirked and glanced at Ling Jing Xian.
Looked at her getting all excited. What had Lu Hong getting top scores in the imperial examinations got to do with her?
