Song Qingchun's voice was barely discernible near the end. Her gaze wandered all over the place, everywhere except near Su Zhinian's face. He could tell that, when she said they could share the same room, she was still quite anxious.

Isn't she tired? How can she possibly rest with such a level of anxiety?

Su Zhinian stared at Song Qingchun for a while before his black pupils moved slightly, as if he had come up with a great idea. He reached for his ID on the table and told the receptionist in a light tone, "Use her ID to register the room."

"But, sir, if two of you are staying, we have to register both of your IDs," the receptionist said.

"Hmm…" Su Zhinian paused before adding, "I know, just follow my instruction for now."

The receptionist nodded and helped Song Qingchun register.

He only used my ID to register, meaning I'll be staying here alone? What about him?

Song Qingchun looked on as Su Zhinian put his ID back into his wallet. With a suspicion forming in her mind, she asked with a frown, "What about you?"

Su Zhinian did not answer but pulled out his credit card to pa.s.s to the receptionist. After paying, Su Zhinian accepted the room card and pa.s.sed it to Song Qingchun. "Go up."

Go up? Alone? It's as I thought; he's not going to stay, right?

Song Qingchun did not take the room card. Her bright eyes zeroed in on Su Zhinian and repeated her question, "What about you?"

"I'll find another hotel. You're tired, so you can rest here tonight. I will come and pick you up tomorrow." Su Zhinian shrugged nonchalantly as he pocketed his wallet.

So, it was as she'd thought…

He had promised not to touch her anymore. He had noticed her anxiety, so this was his decision, his consideration for her concern?

She had only said she was tired because she wanted to give him an opportunity to rest, but now he had given her the only room. Even though his words and actions were done with such insouciance, Song Qingchun could still feel his kindness and concern for her.

The strong emotions that Song Qingchun felt when she saw that piece of paper at the gas station started moving again.

Her breathing started to catch as she stared at Su Zhinian. Suddenly, she reached for his hand and swiped his wallet. She pulled out his ID and pa.s.sed it to the receptionist. "Please help him register as well, thank you."

Then, she turned around to face Su Zhinian. With a serious countenance, she said, "Either we both stay here, or I'll follow you to another hotel."

One refused to stay together, and the other refused to stay unless together. The receptionist was caught in a conundrum. She looked at Su Zhinian and then at Song Qingchun, and she did not dare come to a decision on her own.

Su Zhinian studied Song Qingchun's severe face for a while before nodding at the receptionist.

As they walked to the room, Song Qingchun's face was flushed, and she didn't say a word to Su Zhinian.

Even though it was king-sized bedroom, there was a small living room.

Song Qingchun dashed into the bathroom as soon as the door opened. When she exited the room, Su Zhinian was seated gracefully on the sofa in the living room, and the previously empty coffee table now had on it a thick, black, leather-bound book.
