Cheng Zhi Chu looked down at the blood-stained diary entries in his hand and, just as he was about to open it, he suddenly felt the building shake around him. He was so scared he threw the diary away and then huddled into a ball on the ground.
But this only lasted for a few seconds before it once again returned to dead silence and movements were no longer heard. Cheng Zhi Chu quietly looked up with his round eyes vigilantly scanning his surroundings. After confirming that nothing was going to appear, he moved to pick the diary up and huddle in the corner of the room. With a wall behind him, he was able to feel a little more rea.s.sured.
What on earth was that…….It doesn't seem to be caused by the diary. Seems to be coming from above………Was it related to Bai Yi?
Cheng Zhi Chu was a little worried about Bai Yi. Although they didn't know each other for long, Bai Yi had taken care of him and didn't save him just once, so it was natural for him to worry about Bai Yi.

The writing in each entry also got messier and messier and it was evident that it was written in fear and desperation.
【What's going on? I've been hearing the sound of a baby crying in the middle of the night and this happened more than once. I am certain that it is not my imagination, but all the servants here are not married so there can't be any children here.】
【I clearly made them bury the necklace but every day I would wake up in the morning and see it sitting in my jewellery box.
At first, I thought it was someone's prank, so I was furious and reprimanded all the servants. I even replaced the lock to my bedroom to prevent others from sneaking in, but it was useless. The necklace still appeared.
I'm started to feel scared. This is so terrifying. Even if I tried to burn it, cut it with an axe or throw it into the river, it was impossible to destroy the necklace. No matter what I did to it the day before, it would appear as new as it could be in my jewellery box the next day.】

I woke up covered in cold sweat and once again I heard the sound of a baby crying but this time it was even more terrifying. It cried and cried and then its voice suddenly changed.
It started to laugh.】

It cried out "Mummy", "Daddy" and then giggled but when it didn't receive a response, it would cry hysterically with a high-pitched, ear-piercing scream. Then it would suddenly calm down and say very coldly and indifferently:

At the very end of the diary, Mrs. Mei Jie had seemingly fallen into a state of madness. The words written on the paper were messy like it was scribbled on and Cheng Zhi Chu couldn't make out what she had written.

It had become an evil spirit and grew up before killing Mrs. Mei Jie and all the other living people in the mansion as well as the innocent second and third owners!

The voice rang out from behind him and there was a hint of smile in it. The voice was deep and charming but it scared Cheng Zhi Chu to the point that his soul almost scattered out — He was clearly against a wall so could someone suddenly appear from behind?!
No longer caring about the necklace, he immediately fumbled forward on all fours. At this moment the buzzing sound of electricity could be heard and the electric lights that had not been used for many years suddenly lit up, illuminating the dark bas.e.m.e.nt. Blinded by the bright light, Cheng Zhi Chu squeezed his eyes shut forcing small beads of tears to form at the corner of his eyes. He then suddenly felt someone use their hands to wipe away his tears.
"Ahhhhh———–!"
Cheng Zhi Chu screamed out in fear and his face was ghostly pale. He wasn't far from dying on the spot. That voice once again chuckled lowly and it extended both hands to pull him into a cold embrace from behind. It then gently stroked his face.
"Scared of me?"
There was a hint of warmth and laughter in the voice coming from the person hugging him. Cheng Zhi Chu shivered to the point that his teeth chattered from the cold. What he was most afraid of was this person's ident.i.ty. If it would appear here, then it could only be…….
"Don't be scared. Come, look at me."
Cheng Zhi Chu didn't dare to open his eyes. He could feel Joshua turning him around so that they were face to face. Although he couldn't see, Cheng Zhi Chu could still feel Joshua's gaze fall onto him. Like it was something tangible, it touched him all over. Cheng Zhi Chu could no longer stand the pressure and could only eventually open his eyes.

Cheng Zhi Chu didn't dare to speak. Who knows why a male ghost would also something like this? What if he actually didn't want the other person to say that he looks good?!
"That person who came with you. Him and me, which one do you prefer?"
Joshua saw him not saying anything and proceeded to lift his face and lean closer to force him to look up at him: "Do you like him better or do you like me better?"

Cheng Zhi Chu's long silence caused Joshua's smile to gradually fall and a faint frown formed between his eyebrows.
His fingers moved along Cheng Zhi Chu's neck. It was warm, soft and filled with life. It…..was very different from him
He loved the fresh and lovely appearance of Cheng Zhi Chu's but he also understood that this kind of Cheng Zhi Chu would never belong to him
